Humanoid Robots

Humanoid robots possess a physical structure that resembles that of the human body. Usually, a robot of this type has a torso with a head, two arms and two legs. It is considered to be an autonomous robot because it is able to adapt to changes in its environment so it can accomplish its goal. It is also able to recharge itself, learn new capabilities on its own, avoid harmful situations, and interact with humans and the environment.

Since these autonomous machines try to simulate human structure and behaviour, they are usually more complex compared to other kinds of robots. At present, there are two ways used to model a humanoid robot. The first one uses a set of links connected with joints. It is a structure that can be found in most industrial robots. The other method uses knowledge acquired from biomechanics where the robot’s form bears a resemblance to the human skeleton.
